Signal Red with Mushroom leather interior, Tan carpeting, Blacksoft top, Factory Signal Red hardtop, 3.0 Liter inline 6 Cylinder,5-Speed Automatic Transmission, 10,000 original miles from new.After almost 20 years of production for the previous generationSL-class, Mercedes launched this new R129 generation for 1989 withsubstantial improvements in both technology and safety over theoutgoing model. The new SL had a first-of-its-kind roll bar in caseof a roll-over, ABS and dual front airbags were standard, tractioncontrol and an electronic limited slip differential were standardfor the 1991 model year. Other new technology advancements includedpower side mirrors, power rearview mirror and full power seatswhich allowed this SL to be the first passenger vehicle to haveseat belts integrated into the seats. Lastly, this new SL had afull power retractable convertible top. Standard equipment includeda color matched Aluminum hard top.The 300 SL is powered by a well-balanced 3.0 liter DOHC inline6-cylinder engine producing 217bhp. It has always been wellserviced and cared for regardless of use as shown in theexceptional condition it shows today. Signal Red was the onlyoption choice for these early R129s in which the lower body panelmoldings were color matched. All other colors had contrastingmoldings.This rare six cylinder 300SL is in as-new condition throughout,showing only 10,000 original miles. It is complete with all tools,keys, books, first aid kit, factory hard top, jack, and originalspare.
